A night Fleetwood Town fans will never forget.

On 27 October 2026, the Cod Army produced one of the biggest shocks in Carabao Cup history, knocking reigning Premier League champions Arsenal out of the competition at Highbury Stadium.

Aaron Loupalo-Bi stunned Arsenal by putting Fleetwood ahead in the first half before Viktor Gyökeres equalised after the break. With the score locked at 1–1 after 90 minutes, the tie went to penalties.

Fleetwood held their nerve from the spot, scoring all five of their penalties before goalkeeper Jay Lynch produced the crucial save from Bruno Guimarães. Conor Haughey then stepped up and buried the decisive penalty to send Fleetwood Town into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
